Executive Luncheon Series Presents Dr. James I. Cash
Perspectives from a Public Company director during a Period of "Business Reset." Petroleum Club: 800 Bell St (ExxonMobil building)
Join us on Friday, March 19, 2010, for Perspectives from a Public Company Director during a Period of "Business Reset." It promises to be a lively 'give and take' with one of HBS's most beloved professors, Dr. Jim Cash.
During 2009, Dr. Jim Cash served on four public company boards: Walmart ($406B, 2.1M associates), General Electric ($183B, 323K employees), Microsoft ($60B, 91K employees), and Chubb ($13.2B, 10.4K employees). Like others, during 2008-2009, these companies experienced one of the most dramatic "business resets' in history. Jim will provide a director's perspective on the range of experiences in several large multi-national companies.
After 27 years on the faculty, Dr. Cash retired in October 2003 as the James E. Robinson Professor and senior associate dean of the Harvard Business School, where he first jonied the faculty in 1976. Cash received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Texas Christian University, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Purdue University's Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Purdue University's Krannert Graduate School of Management. In addition to heading several executive programs, he taught in all the major HBS programs and served as chairman of the MBA program and chairman of the Harvard Business School Publishing Company. He currently serves on the boards of G.E., Chubb, Walmart and Phase Forward.
Cash, one of the nation's foremost experts on management of the information technology function, focuses on the strategic use of information technology in the service sector.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be one of our most engaging speakers of the year.
